What is eyebrow microbalding?

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo technique used to create a fuller looking brows. It provides you will a natural and more defined eyebrows.  Eyebrow microblading uses a sterile micro blade that penetrates the superficial layer of the dermis.  It consists of a series of needles that release the pigment into the skin using the space between them.  The pigment is removed during the treatment by physiological solution, distilled water, micellar water or by nano-solution.

How does eyebrow microblading works?

Initially, there is a consultation which involves discussion with the client regarding the best brow shape, and colour is determined  for their face.  Then the colour selection that matches the natural hair colour and skin undertone follows.

During the treatment the anaesthetic is most commonly used in a way that is applied onto the skin before or during treatment.  A sterile microblade which consists of a series of needles is coated in pigment which is then used to deposit pigment into the superficial layers of the skin to produce a fine hair stroke similar to that of  a natural brow hair.

At the end of the procedure, an ointment is applied which the client will take home as part of their after care.  A printed after care routine will be given at the end of the procedure.

Does the eyebrow microblading hurts?

A topical anaesthetic is applied to numb the area and also reapplied during the procedure. The level of pain during the procedure can be mild and can feel a bit uncomfortable.  At the end of the procedure, redness and slight swelling may occur in the area and it may feel like a slight sunburn.  Clients can take pain killers to relieve the pain.

How long does it take to heal after an eyebrow microblading?

Healing of superficial wounds on the skin last about 2-5 days, during which the client must comply with strict hygiene measures.  During the first 7 days itching and flaking may appear but these symptoms should quickly disappear.  Healing of deeper wounds lasts between 14 to 21 days.  Thus, any correction is recommended only after this period.  If the client has unexpected issues with skin healing, they must urgently consult their technician or see a doctor.

How long does the eyebrow microblading procedure take?

The initial microblading session may take around 1-3 hours.  Prior to the microblading procedure, the technician will measure, shape and style the brows for clients approval.  Then the client chooses the pigment colour.  The microblading procedure begins once the client is satisfied with the shape, style and the colour of the pigments.

Microblading touch up sessions can take between 1-1.5 hours depending on when the initial microblading was done.

How long does the eyebrow microblading last?

The pigments will naturally fade overtime.  Eyebrow microblading typical lasts 6 to 18 months.  It depends on their skin type if its normal, dry or oily and age.  Following the after care routine affects the lasting effect of the pigment.  Each individual’s colour retention within the skin will also vary.  A touch up is suggested to maintain a fresh looking brows.
